ABOUT THIS ROLE
As Audible continues to revolutionize audio entertainment, we are seeking a strategic deal-maker to serve as the Director, Global English Publisher Partnerships, Deal Architecture and Enablement. This role drives deal success across Audible's third party publisher relationships, leading negotiations directly while architecting creative deal structures that deliver measurable business outcomes for the broader team.
You will own a portfolio of publisher relationships and negotiations for the Global English Publisher Partnerships organization, managing deals from initial discussions through execution. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global English Publisher Partnerships, you will negotiate commercial terms directly with publishers, develop deal structures, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, Product, and cross-functional teams to shape how Audible values and structures its third party publisher relationships. You will also enable the broader deal team by translating business performance insights into negotiation approaches and deal frameworks that advance the team's objectives.

- Lead deal negotiations and manage commercial relationships directly with publishers across Audible's English language markets globally, owning deals from initial discussions through execution
- Design innovative deal structures that balance publisher and Audible objectives, collaborating with Finance, Legal, Product, Strategy, and the Publisher Partnerships team to optimize deal economics
- Build valuation models and conduct scenario testing to inform your negotiations and evaluate deal trade-offs, including P&L development and ROI analysis
- Develop negotiation approaches informed by business performance trends across the 3rd party publisher ecosystem, identifying opportunities that shape deal structures for your portfolio and the broader team
- Monitor the competitive landscape and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities, competitive threats, and positioning considerations that strengthen negotiations and publisher relationships
- Support the Senior Director and deal team by translating business performance insights into negotiation frameworks and deal approaches that can be applied across the publisher portfolio
- Create executive communications and presentation materials that articulate deal recommendations, financial implications, and business rationale for content investments and publisher opportunities
- Lead publisher-facing business reviews and performance discussions, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), that strengthen relationships and inform ongoing deal optimization
- Drive communication cadence with publishers and internal stakeholders on performance, providing thought leadership on the publishing industry and content trends that inform deal discussions
- Build trust and credibility as a go-to deal partner for Global English Publisher Partnerships, combining negotiation expertise with financial acumen and business judgment
- Champion efficiency within the Publisher Partnerships team through automation and AI tools, reducing manual work to focus team capacity on deal-making and relationship development
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment on publisher performance and deal priorities, driving action that improves relationship outcomes
- Influence decision-making through compelling business cases, clear financial framing, and stakeholder engagement that advances deal objectives

- Experience in large complex deal negotiations with a successful track record
- Experience successfully negotiating and managing content deals
- Experience driving deal execution for entertainment or media products
- Demonstrated track record of successful publisher relationship building and management
- Proficiency in developing financial models and business cases for deal evaluation, including P&L analysis, ROI calculations, and scenario modeling
- Experience translating business performance insights into negotiation approaches and deal structures
- Experience with financial modeling and data tools: Excel, SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, Python or R a plus
- Ability to build compelling business cases and narratives that influence executive decisions and drive negotiation outcomes
- Problem-solving skills with ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop deal frameworks
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to express thoughts logically, succinctly, and persuasively in negotiation and executive settings
- Experience managing multiple competing priorities and delivering under ambitious timelines with high accuracy
- Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals
- Experience developing performance frameworks and reporting capabilities that enable deal teams and publisher relationship management
- Familiarity with content performance metrics that inform deal structures, including consumption patterns, audience insights, and content ROI measurement
- Experience with AI/ML tools for automation and efficiency
- Deep understanding of the publishing business, including business models, competitive forces, and industry dynamics
- Experience collaborating with Business Intelligence and Data Science teams to access insights that inform deal approaches
- Proven success in content, media rights, or digital media deal-making roles

Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree- Experience in large complex deal negotiations with a successful track record
- Experience successfully negotiating and managing content deals
- Experience driving deal execution for entertainment or media products
- Demonstrated track record of successful publisher relationship building and management
- Proficiency in developing financial models and business cases for deal evaluation, including P&L analysis, ROI calculations, and scenario modeling
- Experience translating business performance insights into negotiation approaches and deal structures
- Experience with financial modeling and data tools: Excel, SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, Python or R a plus
- Ability to build compelling business cases and narratives that influence executive decisions and drive negotiation outcomes
- Problem-solving skills with ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop deal frameworks

- Familiarity with content performance metrics that inform deal structures, including consumption patterns, audience insights, and content ROI measurement
- Experience with AI/ML tools for automation and efficiency

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
